PURPOSE
The purpose of the Society is to support and encourage research and practice related to issues of interpersonal acceptance and rejection, including but not limited to parental acceptance-rejection, peer acceptance-rejection, acceptance-rejection in intimate adult relation- ships, and acceptance-rejection in other attachment relationships throughout the lifespan. 
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Society is open to anyone who subscribes to the Society’s mission, as stated in the Purpose of the Society and who applies to the Secretary-Treasurer for membership. See Membership Application.

ANNUAL DUES
Dues are based on a sliding scale, with students and other applicants living in “low-income economies”—as identified by the World Bank—paying the least. Applicants living in “lower-middle,” “upper-middle,” and “high-income” economies pay progressively more. Details about the dues structure and methods of payment are provided on the Membership Application.

HISTORY OF THE SOCIETY
The Society was founded at the conclusion of the first International Congress on Interpersonal Acceptance and Rejection in Istanbul, Turkey, June 24, 2006.
BIENNIAL MEETINGS
International conferences on interpersonal acceptance and rejection will be held every two years. The Society’s next conference will convene July 3rd - 6th, 2008 on the Greek island of Crete.
